You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Native to North America, this upright perennial herb from the sunflower family is a lovely addition to the garden.
This hardy plant enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil and will grow about 1.3m high by 80cm wide.
It will reward you with lovely yellow flowers in late summer that the bees will love.
It doesn’t really need fertilising as it tends to thrive without it.
