Mentha x gracilis.
This lovely upright mint has a zesty ginger-like flavour and partners well with Asian herbs like chilli, coriander, garlic, ginger and lemon grass.
Try making a strong tea from the leaves, then mix with chilled soda water for a refreshing drink that goes down well in the hot weather.
Ginger mint will grow to around 50cm in height and 100cm in width. Best grown in medium-sized pots so they don’t spread. The beautiful mauve-pink flowers are a real treat.
