Native to Indonesia and Japan, this low-growing perennial is a wonderful addition to the edible garden.
The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked, and are highly nutritious. In Japan, the leaves are dipped in batter and fried.
The plant enjoys a full sun to part shade position in free draining soil, and should grow about 70cm high.
