You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Salvia microphylla ‘Huntington’.
This lovely perennial Salvia has distinctly coloured red flowers that appear throughout spring and summer, helping to attract beneficial insects into the garden.
The plant enjoys a full sun position and can tolerate a variety of soil types.
It should grow to about 80cm high by 65cm wide.
Trim about a third off once flowering has finished.
