For those of you who aren’t aware, this is the plant famously used to make tea.
The plant grows about 2m high by 2m wide and it is rather slow growing. It is an evergreen shrub that prefers a part shade position.
Tea is made from the leaves. Green tea is made when the leaves are steamed then dried whilst black tea is made when the leaves are fermented and then dried.
The plant offers fragrant white flowers that appear in spring. A lovely addition to the garden.
