This native vegetable can be eaten raw, baked, fried or roasted. The tubers can be dug up and eaten year round.
Although the plant can handle nutrient-poor soil, it is best grown in fairly fertile soil, in a full sun position with a good supply of water in summer.
The plant should grow about 50cm high by 90cm wide.
It can be grown in containers but it is best suited to being grown in the ground.
