Description
Datura metel.
Growing to around 1.4m in height, this hardy annual offers lovely purple and white flowers, followed by rounded, spiny seed capsules.
If you want to ensure heaps of new plants don’t pop up around your garden (or more importantly, in nearby bush), cut the seed capsules off the plant before they fully form or bag them.
The plant has traditionally been used to treat a wide range of health complications.
It prefers a full sun position and can handle a range of soil types.
