Native to Central Asia, Europe, Macronesia and North Africa, this hardy plant is often found growing in cracks of walls and footpaths.
It prefers a slightly damp, sheltered position, but it can handle a variety of growing conditions.
The plant has a spreading habit and usually grows around 50cm in height.
The plant has traditionally been used in herbal medicine to treat bladder and kidney stones.
