You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

This large, fast growing tree from Central and South America offers white and yellow pom-pom flowers.
The large velvety seed pods contain inedible black seeds which are surrounded by an edible white pulp which tastes like vanilla ice cream.
The tree is nitrogen fixing, self pollinating and requires moderate watering.
