Description
Piper sarmentosum. 3.7L coir pot.
Native to parts of Asia, this perennial, creeping plant can be grown as a dense ground cover, in a hanging basket or up a trellis.
The leaves have a peppery taste and can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach.
The leaves can be chewed to assist with toothache and a decoction of the leaves can be used to assist with asthma, colds and flu, among other things.
The plant enjoys a warm, shaded position in fertile, well-draining soil, and should grow around 90cm high.
