Description
Passiflora edulis ‘Sunshine Special’. 19cm coir pot.
‘Sunshine Special’ is an evergreen, climbing, highly productive edible plant.
Grown from cuttings, these plants generally won’t send out suckers, unlike grafted passionfruit plants.
Stunning flowers.
Large purple fruit will appear in winter and a larger crop is produced in summer.
Prune back by a third after the summer crop to encourage fruiting.
Self fertile, but you can encourage pollination by gently dabbing a little paintbrush from flower to flower, spreading the pollen.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil.
Grow on a trellis or support.
