Native to Europe, this hardy perennial ground cover has a long history of medicinal and culinary use.
The leaves were used to flavour beer and Alehoof tea was traditionally used to help treat inflammation, fevers, headaches, arthritis and much more.
The plant enjoys a shaded position in rich, moist soil.
It should grow around 15cm high by 2m wide.
