You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

This interesting evergreen shrub / small tree is native to the rainforests of South America, and belongs to the coffee family.
It prefers a part shade position in fertile soil.
It should grow around 3m high by 2m wide, although it grows bigger in the wild.
The leaves of the plant can be used in ayahuasca brews.
The flowers are pale green / white and the berries are red.
