Description
Salvia officinalis ‘Berggarten’.
‘Berggarten’ means ‘mountain garden’ in German.
Although often used as an ornamental plant due to its lovely grey foliage, the plant is popular as a culinary plant, offering flavoursome leaves (many people prefer it to Common Sage).
Believed to assist with digestion.
The plant should grow about 60cm high by 60cm wide and it enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil.
It doesn’t often flower, but when it does, the purple blooms appear in summer.
