You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Bignay – Antidesma bunius. 3.7L coir pot.

Also known as Queensland Cherry and Wild Cherry (among other names), this tree produces clusters of small berries, that ripen unevenly, offering a varied display of colour throughout the season.

The berries can be eaten raw or used in jellies, wine and jams.

The leaves are edible and can also be used in tea.

The tree usually grows around 5m in height in the garden.

It prefers a full sun to part shade position in free draining soil.
