You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Gaillardia x grandiflora ‘Mesa Red’.
This compact, short lived perennial offers vibrant red flowers throughout summer, followed by globe shaped seed heads. The flowers will help attract butterflies to the garden.
The plant enjoys a full sun position and can handle a variety of soil types with good drainage.
It should grow to around 40cm high by 50cm wide.
