You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Dianella revoluta.
This hardy, strappy evergreen plant produces pale blue flowers followed by bright blue berries, which are juicy and sweet.
The leaf bases are edible (although rather starchy) and the roots can be roasted or eaten raw.
The plant enjoys a full sun to part shade position. It’ll grow about 1m high by 80cm wide.
Ideal for pots.
