Description
Bulbine bulbosa. 3.7L coir pot.
You can eat the seeds, roots and corm (the swollen base just under the ground) of this native vegetable. It may take a few years to produce a corm suitable for harvesting.
The foliage dies off in summer, and the corms are usually harvested then. Corms left in the ground will re-shoot.
The yellow flowers are fragrant, and the plant has a long flowering period from spring to early autumn.
The plant enjoys a full sun to part shade position in fairly moist soil, and it should grow about 35cm high by 30cm wide.
Ideal for pots and rockeries.
Great for attracting bees and butterflies.
