You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Arbutus canariensis. 19cm coir pot.
Native to the Canary Islands, this attractive evergreen tree offers white, pink-tinged flowers, followed by edible orange – red fruit.
Attractive bark.
The plant prefers a full sun to part shade position in well draining soil, and should grow around 6m high by 4m wide.
Drought tolerant once established.
