Chamomile is a popular hardy annual that has been used as a herbal medicine for thousands of years.
It can be used in a range of ways such as a tea for rheumatic problems, as a salve for haemorrhoids or as a vapour for cold or asthma symptoms.
It can assist in digestion, relieve morning sickness, increase speed of healing in wounds and burns, and relieve allergies. It is also a gentle sedative.
Chamomile will grow to around 60cm high by 35cm wide in a full sun location. Its bright fine green foliage will be decorated by tiny flowers on long, thin stems which can be dried to extract oils from them.
Water well in the warmer months.
