Description
Ginkgo biloba. 3.7L coir pot.
This ancient, slow growing tree enjoys a full sun position in moist, free draining soil.
Growing to around 20m in height, this deciduous tree offers green foliage that turns a brilliant yellow in autumn.
Extracts from the leaves are believed to assist with blood circulation, anxiety and memory, among other things.
Ginkgo are dioecious, meaning they have separate male and female plants. Male trees produce pollen cones, whilst female trees produce ‘fruit’ (not technically a fruit). Although edible when cooked, the seed inside the ‘fruit’ can be toxic when eaten in large quantities.
My plants are grown from seed, and are too young for me to sex.
