Solidago canadensis. 1.1L coir pot.
Native to North America, this upright perennial herb from the sunflower family was / is used medicinally by native Indian tribes to treat snake bite, fever, diarrhoea and wounds, among many other things.
It has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and apparently flatulence-reducing properties.
A tea can be made from the leaves and flowers.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil and should grow around 1m in height.
It can spread rather vigorously, so growing it in a large container might be preferable for some.
Lovely yellow flowers should appear in summer.
