You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Physalis peruviana. 3.7L coir pot.

Also known as Cape Gooseberry and Peruvian Ground Cherry.

Native to Peru, Equador and Columbia, this evergreen perennial shrub can handle poor soil types and can be grown well in pots. Frequent watering is recommended and good drainage is important.

Loads of small orange fruit protected by a papery husk are produced and if you leave the husk intact, the fruit can last up to three months once picked.

The fruit have a lovely sweet / bitter flavour and are very good for you with very high levels of vitamin A, thiamin, vitamin C, B12, phosphorus and niacin. Now regarded as a super food.
