Native to Central – East Europe and West Asia, this perennial was traditionally used in Romanian folk medicine to treat infections, inflammation and injuries.
The plant has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Flowers are yellow, speckled with maroon.
The aromatic flowers and leaves have been used to flavour wines.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil and should grow around 1.2m high by 1m wide.
