Native to NSW and Queensland, this hardy, fast growing climber (which is also used as a ground cover), offers creamy yellow coloured flowers in spring followed by purple fruit.
The fruit (often called Kangaroo Berry) look similar to blueberries but have a rather acidic taste. The fruit can be eaten raw or stewed.
This perennial enjoys a part shade position and can also be grown as an indoor plant.
It likes loamy soil and requires little maintenance.
