You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Artemisia vulgaris. 3.7L coir pot.

Native to Northern Asia, Africa and Europe, this hardy perennial has been used for various medicinal purposes since the Middle Ages.

It has also been used for magical / witchcraft preparations and religious / ritual purposes.

Often known as a dream herb, it is believed to enhance lucid dreaming and assist with a good sleep.

The leaves are used in tea, and they can be eaten both raw and cooked.

The leaves have anti-fungal and antiseptic properties.

Mugwort enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil, and should grow around 1.2m high by 1m wide. Drought tolerant once established.

Prune back every year (usually after flowering) for strong new growth. Cut it back hard if you wish, as it’s a vigorous grower.

Mugwort can seed very easily, so the flowers should be removed prior to the seeds setting, if you wish to help control the spread of the plant.

The plant secretes chemicals from its roots which can inhibit the growth of nearby plants, so growing Mugwort in a large pot can be favourable.
