Native to Southern Europe, this hardy perennial offers lovely purple leaves that can be used in cooking.
The younger, milder leaves are ideal for drinks. They can be used in tea and when gargled, can assist with a sore throat.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil.
It’ll grow around 60cm high by 70cm wide and offers edible purple flowers in summer.
