Trifolium pratense. 1.1L coir pot.
Native to Europe, Northwest Africa and Western Asia, this hardy perennial offers lovely edible pink flowers and leaves.
The flowers can be used to make herbal tea and jelly, and the young leaves can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach.
Used in traditional Indian medicine, the plant is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, expectorant and sedative properties, among others.
Red Clover enjoys a full sun to part shade position in free draining soil, and should grow up to 80cm in height.
Valued for its nitrogen fixation properties, which improves soil fertility, the plant is a popular green manure crop.
