You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Rubus ulmifolius ‘Chester’. 3.7L coir pot.

This vigorous plant prefers a sunny to partly shaded, protected position in fertile, well-draining soil, and should grow about 2m high by 3m wide.

Rich black-coloured fruit on second year wood.

Prune in winter.

Deciduous.

Best grown on a trellis or other supporting structure.

Although regarded as ‘thornless’, the plant will likely produce small prickles.
