You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Ruta gravelons. 1.1L coir pot.

Native to the Mediterranean, this hardy, evergreen perennial is one of the oldest used medicinal and magical plants. During the Middle Ages, witches were said to use the leaves in their brews.

Also known as Herb of Grace, it was a traditional folk medicine used to treat poor eyesight, headaches, sciatica, epilepsy, vertigo and varicose veins. It was believed to have anti-spasmodic and stimulant properties, and was apparently a favourite of Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo as a creativity enhancer.

Rue prefers a full sun position, in well draining soil, and grows around 1m high by 1m wide.

The small yellow flowers are lovely, and great as cut flowers.

The odour of the plant is believed to repel cats and dogs.
