Native to the Mediterranean, this woody perennial is one of the oldest used medicinal / magical plant.
Traditionally taken to treat poor eyesight, headaches, sciatica and varicose veins. Generally the plant is no longer taken internally as it can be toxic in larger doses. It was believed to have anti-spasmodic and stimulant properties and was apparently a favourite of Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo as a creativity enhancer.
Preferring a full sun position, Rue will reward you with lovely yellow flowers. It also can be useful in repelling insects and cats.
