You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Ficus coronata. 3.7L coir pot.
The fruit can be eaten fresh (remove the fuzzy skin first), dried or used in cooking (loads of uses).
The plant enjoys a full sun to part shade position in free draining soil. Choose a warm spot.
In the garden, the tree should grow around 7m high by 5m wide.
It’s a lovely addition to the garden and the butterflies and birds love it.
