Description

Tagetes minuta. 1.1L coir pot.

Native to Southern South America, this wonderful plant offers highly fragrant leaves.

It is sometimes used as a culinary herb.

A herbal tea can be brewed from the leaves or they can be dried and used as a seasoning.

This tall, upright, hardy plant grows about 1.8m high and enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil. It self-seeds easily.

The plant can be used to produce dye, as a green manure crop and when dug into the ground, the plant helps to control pest nematodes.

An extraction of the plant (Marigold oil) is used in the tobacco, soft drink and perfume industry.
