You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Native to South America, this fast growing small tree grows to about 3m in height and enjoys a full sun position in fertile, free draining soil.
A crop should develop within eighteen months.
The egg-shaped fruit can be dried, eaten raw or cooked and made into a jam or a fruit sauce.
