You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Thymus ‘Jekka’.
This lovely upright thyme enjoys a warm sunny position in dry, well draining soil with good air movement.
The foliage offers a strong flavour to meals and partners well with garlic, oregano, rosemary and other thymes. The flowers can be eaten and used as garnishes.
Thyme offers many antioxidants, minerals and vitamins.
The plant will grow to about 15cm high by 40cm wide. It requires minimal watering and will die in heavy, wet soils.
