You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Native to the Mediterranean region, this woody, evergreen shrub grows around 2m high with aromatic, shiny grey / green leaves, and yellow flowers.
A hardy perennial, it enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil.
The odour of the foliage is said to help repel fleas and flies, and if rubbed on the skin, mosquitoes.
Many people plant Wormwood around their chickens, allowing them to self-medicate against worms.
