Native to Europe, the Mediterranean and Russia, the leaves of this evergreen perennial are popular in cooking, adding a spicy, strong flavour and herbaceous aroma to savoury dishes.
The plant becomes semi-dormant in winter.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in well-draining, fairly poor soil, and should grow around 40cm high by 40cm wide.
