Description
Heimia salicifolia. 3.7L coir pot.
Sinicuichi is native to the south-west of America but has also been found in California and Argentina.
It is a perennial herb with narrow leaves which will get to heights of around 1.5m.
Commonly used as a cooking spice. It is also used in antiseptic solutions and essential oils.
It was once used by Aztecs and is still used by Mexican shamans. They regard it as a sacred herb that will enable those who digest the yellow flowers to have vivid recall of events past (some even claim that it has created recall of events pre-birth). They also believe it can deepen consciousness and create lucid dreams.
This herb is associated with fertility goddesses and due to this, many women from Mexico and Central America have used it to aid in fertility by bathing in the herb. This method also aided in treating women after miscarriage and healing after birth.
Sinicuichi is a pretty hardy plant. It likes a full sun position in moderately fertile, well draining soil. Fertilise it regularly and trim it regularly. Trimming it will help encourage new growth for use.
