You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Alpinia caerulea. 3.7L coir pot.
This perennial enjoys a shaded position in fairly moist soil.
Fragrant white flowers will appear in spring and summer.
The ginger-scented rhizome and the blue fruit can be eaten.
The plant should grow about 2m high by 1m wide.
Great for attracting birds, beneficial insects and lizards.
