You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Laurus nobilis. 13cm coir pot.

Bay is a slow growing, drought tolerant, evergreen tree which can grow to around 5 metres high.

Can be grown in a large pot. As with most plants, it won’t reach its full height in a pot.

Can be pruned into a hedge or topiary.

The leaves are a popular seasoning and spice, and they can be used in cooking.

The leaves can be used fresh or dried. Dried leaves have a shelf life of about one year.

The wood can be burnt to create a smoky flavouring when cooking.

Medicinally, the leaves have been used to treat stomach pains and relieve flatulence. Extracts have been used to assist with arthritis and rheumatism.
