Description
Vaccinium angustifolium x corymbosum ‘Sunshine Blue’. 3.7L coir pot.
‘Sunshine Blue’ is one of my favourite varieties, offering a good-sized crop (up to 9 kilograms per plant) when mature.
The pretty bell-shaped flowers appear before the fruit sets.
The autumn leaf colours on this dwarf variety are beautiful. This semi-deciduous plant is ideal for containers and it doesn’t require pruning. It should grow to about 1.5m high by 1.5m wide.
It enjoys a full sun to part shade position in free draining, slightly acidic soil. Apply mulch to ensure the shallow roots are kept cool and moist.
