You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

This hardy, evergreen low-growing shrub offers edible berries which have a sweet and salty flavour.
The leaves are also edible but they should be cooked first or eaten in small amounts.
Ruby Saltbush enjoys a full sun position and can handle various soil types, including depleted soils.
It’ll grow to around 1m in height and width.
Attractive to seed eating birds.
