Native to the coastal North West of the USA, this fast growing, aromatic perennial herb has a long history of medicinal and ritual use by Native Americans.
The plant was traditionally used for wound healing and topical pain relief, to aid digestion, cold and flu symptoms, and to improve menstrual flow (among other things).
Dried and bundled stems are used as smudge sticks, to calm the body and mind, and clear stuck energy.
The plant is believed to enhance lucid dreaming.
Coastal Sagewort possesses analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, anti-septic, and expectorant properties.
It enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil.
