You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Artemisia princeps. 3.7L coir pot.

Native to China, Korea and Japan, this fast-growing perennial herb is a member of the Wormwood family. It has anti-infective, expectorant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

It is traditionally used to beautify the skin and treat skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. It is said to have muscle relaxant properties and is also believed to help with asthma, joint disease, hay-fever, wart removal, infections, malaria symptoms and sciatic pain.

The leaves can be used in tea. The young leaves can be eaten raw or cooked and added to meals (traditionally rice dishes and soups).

Traditionally the herb was one of the plants used in moxibustion and to make medicinal baths.

This hardy shrub enjoys full sun to part shade conditions and grows well in pots.
