This is a hybrid of French Lavender (Lavandula dentata) and Portuguese Lavender (Lavandula latifolia). Also known as Giant Lavender.
Lavender has been used in traditional medicine to assist with colds, flu, headaches and rheumatism, among other things.
Oil from the plant is popular in aromatherapy.
Lavender is used in desserts, jams and vinegars. The leaves and flower buds are popular in tea.
The plant enjoys a full sun position in free draining soil.
It should grow about 1.2m high by 1m wide.
