You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Musa acuminata x balbisiana ‘Blue Java’. 3.7L coir pot.

The fruit of this fast growing plant develops a blue tint whilst growing, turning to yellow upon maturity.

Also known as ‘Ice Cream Banana’, the fruit has a vanilla ice cream, custard-like flavour.

The plant enjoys a full sun position in well draining soil, and usually grows around 5m high.

‘Blue Java’ is more cold and wind tolerant than many varieties.

Bananas are heavy feeders, so feed the soil and water regularly.

Self-pollinating.
