You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Description

Salvia canariensis. 3.7L coir pot.

Native to the Canary Islands, this perennial, evergreen shrub offers fragrant purple / magenta flowers in the warmer months, that are loved by pollinators.

Traditionally, the leaves were used in tea by shepherds. It was used as a mouth wash, a tonsillitis treatment, to treat inflammation and fever, to reduce blood sugar and as a general tonic.

The leaves have antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties.

The plant enjoys a full sun position in well-draining soil and should grow about 2m high by 2m wide.

Drought tolerant once established.
