You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.
Hops ‘Chinook’ – Humulus lupulus. 3.7L coir pot.
This fast growing, deciduous perennial climber is popular with home brewers. The strobiles (female flowers) are used to make beer (IPA in particular).
The plant dies down to the ground during winter, then pops up again in spring.
It enjoys a full sun to part shade position, and should grow about 5m high by 2m wide.
