Description
Synsepalum dulcificum.
This interesting African shrub grows to about 3-4m in height.
The plant offers white flowers, followed by oval-shaped fruit which turns red when ripe.
The ‘miracle’ name refers to the fruit, which when eaten, affects the taste buds, allowing highly acidic food to be eaten for up to two hours.
The plant is suited to warm tropical climates and enjoys a sheltered, full sun position in free draining soil.
