You can plant the coir pot directly into the ground, which will eliminate root disturbance and help keep your plant happy. The roots will make their way through the pot and into the soil. The pot itself will decompose within about two months in healthy, watered soil.

Native to Mexico, this vine produces vanilla bean pods.
Although self-fertile, hand pollination of the flowers is recommended.
The flowers last less than a day, so pollinate them shortly after they open to improve your chances of vanilla pods forming.
The plant enjoys a warm, humid, part shade position in well draining soil, and often grows around 4m in height.
Popular as an indoor plant in cooler areas.
